Two years in the making, En Pointe Indiana Ballet and Le Jeune Dance are thrilled to bring Central Indiana a dazzling weekend of dance with the romantic ballet Paquita and mixed repertoire production February 3-4, 2024, at Noblesville High School Auditorium.
“We connected with Le Jeune Dance while at the annual YAGP competition,” said En Pointe Co-Artistic Director Robert Moore. “Our team was inspired by their dancers, as they were by ours. Le Jeune had previously collaborated with Joffrey Ballet and several others and suggested a future collaboration. We thought what a great idea and a growth opportunity for our students.”
Le Jeune dancers will be traveling to Hamilton County, Indiana for the early February performance and En Pointe dancers to the Greater Cincinnati area for Le Jeune’s late February performances of Paquita and mixed repertoire production.
“The collaboration process has gone smoothly,” said Moore. “We have sent choreography and rehearsal videos back and forth and mapped out the performances together. It is really an exciting experience for our students and allows them to build relationships that can span across their future dance careers.”
February is the month of love, and the elite dance schools plan to enchant theatergoers as over 60 dancers take to the stage to tell the love story of Paquita through exquisite classical ballet. Both schools also will take to the stage to showcase mixed repertoire pieces featuring modern, contemporary, jazz and musical theater.
“Our dancers get so much joy out of being able to perform their craft live, and we are thrilled to collaborate with Le Jeune to delight local audiences,” said Moore.
Paquita premieres on Saturday February 3, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Noblesville High School Auditorium. Tickets are available at enpointe.yapsody.com
