Indianapolis Area Level 3 and Up Classical Ballet Academy
Within En Pointe Indiana Ballet’s Senior Academy classes, dancers (traditionally ages 11-18) work with our professional level instructors to strengthen their classical ballet technique while learning ballet repertoire and other optional dance disciplines including contemporary, modern, musical theater and tap. Dancers focus on elevating their ballet technique with an emphasis on translating their knowledge to the stage during performances and competitions.
We emphasize the joy of dance in our studio every day and give our students opportunities to showcase their dance artistry in at least two annual performances.
Ballet level placement is based on students’ age and ability. A free placement class will be given to your child, and based on the evaluation, your student will be placed into his or her proper level. Each student will be evaluated twice a year and promotions will be made accordingly. Progress in dance is very individual and cannot be rushed. It takes many years to fully master ballet technique, and requires discipline, patience and enthusiasm. Pointe classes are offered to students who are technically ready (as assessed by their teachers) and at least 11 years of age (as recommended by dance and health professionals).
En Pointe Indiana Ballet is designed for students taking ballet as their primary activity. Minimum ballet technique hours are required and vary depending on the level; however, students are encouraged to add elective dance courses at En Pointe within jazz, modern, contemporary, tap, hip hop and more.
We offer day programs, full-time evening programs, as well as, a flex program.
We welcome any student eager to learn classical ballet technique.
